Design Philosophy

Lochner’s design is appropriate to the architecture, its environment and the client’s lifestyle. The end-result should therefore always be unique, reflecting the client’s personality.

His aesthetic approach is a holistic one, from the architecture of the space and custom furniture pieces down to the detail on the last article.  He believes in creating timeless interiors – interiors with narrative layers of meaning that work together to create not just a cohesive living environment, but also an experience that engages the senses.  He does not believe in one particular style only, as a good designer should be able to execute any design style from contemporary to classic to historical to transitional to eclectic.  He believes in individuality and to give every home a “soul”.

“There is nothing new and nothing old, it is all about how one combines it together”
